Back to Back Days of 1 Billion Relays Serviced

Happy Friday everyone! We’re back with another weekly Relay Recap. For our U.S. community, the July 4th holiday weekend is behind us but it seems the fireworks continue.In the time frame covered here, Pocket Network relays sustained their steady position above 800 million daily relays and continued to trend towards the 1 billion daily relays mark.  But unlike last week's strong efforts to surpass the mark, this week broke through the 1 billion relays serviced mark on back to back days, July 5th and July 6th.  Quite the fireworks show to end the period.Throughout the week, the network serviced an average of 942 million daily relays, with the daily high for this time period recorded at 1.036 billion on July 5th.

Overall, 6.6 billion relays were serviced during the week, representing an 8% increase over the 6.1 billion relays the prior week.

Chain Highlights

As we saw last week, growth at the top continues.  Harmony (0040) had a commanding relay volume performance for the week, with a 12% increase from the last week.  Harmony's highwater mark for the week was on July 5th with an impressive 338 million relays serviced.Ethereum (0021) began the week hovering at the 60 million relays per day range, impressive in itself.  But Ethereum entered July with a bang and almost tripled its recent daily relays average with an explosive total of 171 million on July 3rd.  Week over week, Ethereum saw a 97% gain.  Fireworks indeed!After several weeks of daily relay volume in the 8 - 10 million range, Swimmer Mainnet (03CB) saw a tremendous spike over the weekend with 17.8 million relays serviced on July 2nd, just short of their ATH. We're guessing the Crabada community spent a lot of of the weekend battling it out in the Crab Kingdom.And finally, already coming off a solid week of relay volume and an ATH,  Evmos (0046) set a new ATH of 11.8 million relays on July 6th.  Evmos relays were up 22% week-over-week and continue to flirt with placement in our Top 10.Remember to visit the Pocket Portal to get set up with RPC endpoints for these and other chains that Pocket Network supports!

Node Earnings

From June 30th through July 6th, the earnings leader was Harmony with total POKT earned of 3.2 million.  Polygon took the second spot with 2.2 million POKT. And the third spot for top earner this week was Gnosis - xDai with 1.5 million in POKT earnings.

In terms of average daily POKT earned per node, the top 6 chains at the end of this time frame were:

• Harmony
• Polygon
• Gnosis - xDai
• Ethereum
• BSC
• FUSE

The top 3 positions were unchanged from the week before.  The only positions that changed were Ethereum moving up one spot into fourth place, while BSC moved down a spot into fifth.  FUSE sneaks into this "Top 5" list in the 6th position, just fractionally behind BSC.  FUSE had an exceptional week of relays and certainly deserves another mention.

Node Infrastructure

As of July 6th, Pocket Network’s decentralized infrastructure included 44,727 active nodes across approximately 26 different countries, allowing the network to provide constant uptime and resiliency while supporting 50 different chains.
