Hello again, Pocketeers - we’re back with another Relay Recap.
In the time frame covered here, Pocket Network relays were down slightly from the prior week, but showed strong consistency as they fluctuated between 808 million and 883 million daily relays.
Throughout the week, the network serviced an average of 839 million daily relays, trending upwards from May 21st through May 25th (the last day of the time frame tracked for this Recap).
The daily high for this time period was recorded at 883 million on May 25th.
Overall, 5.9 billion relays were serviced during the week, representing a 2% decrease over the 6 billion relays the prior week.
Note: in case you missed it, we’ve put together some highlights from the keynote speech at Infracon last weekend, as well as a collection of takeaways from Day 2 at the conference. Tons of topics were covered which will be impacting the outlook for Pocket Network relays!
Gnosis - xDai, already one of the largest sources of daily relays for Pocket Network, showed another 7% increase in weekly relays, jumping from 1.4 billion last week to 1.5 billion this week. This performance also allowed the chain to grow its share of total relays from 23% to 25%, good for second highest among all chains.
While Gnosis - xDai grew its proportional share of relays this week, Harmony, FUSE, and Fantom saw small decreases in their pieces of the pie, with each chain producing a 1% lower share of total relays than the prior period.
Swimmer continued its strong start after being launched on Pocket Network, with a 122% increase in relays week-over-week. A large spike in daily relays on May 24 (more than 18 million for the day) helped Swimmer to finish the week with 71.5 million total relays.
Polygon saw a large jump in daily relays within this time frame, from a low of 206 million up to a weekly high of 264 million (a 28% intraweek increase). While Polygon, currently the largest source of relays on Pocket Network, had about the same number of weekly relays as the prior period, some decreases in other chains’ relays allowed this chain to grow its share of total relays by 1% this week (up to 27%).
Ethereum closed this time frame on an uptrend, putting up its highest number of daily relays (about 61 million on May 25) over the last 2 weeks. This represented a 42% increase from Ethereum’s relay stats 10 days prior.
IoTeX has been trending upwards recently, and continued that movement in this time period. After 11.7 million weekly relays in the prior period, IoTeX put up 21.4 million this week, good for an 83% increase.

From May 19th through May 25th, each of the top 3 relay chains produced well upwards of 3 million in POKT earnings for nodes, with Polygon crossing the 4 million POKT mark. This week, Gnosis - xDai jumped ahead of Harmony for the second spot in total earnings.
In terms of average daily POKT earned per node, the top 5 chains at the end of this time frame were:
- Polygon Mainnet
- Harmony Shard 0
- Gnosis - xDai
Harmony flipped spots with Gnosis - xDai compared to the prior week, while Ethereum took FUSE’s spot for 5th place on this list.
As of May 26th, Pocket Network’s decentralized infrastructure included 47,518 active nodes across approximately 30 different countries, allowing the network to provide constant uptime and resiliency while supporting nearly 50 different chains.
- Total relays took a small dip compared to the prior week, but remained very consistent in a channel between 800 and 900 million.
- Gnosis - xDai gained in its share of total relays and took the 2nd place spot for weekly relays.
- Recently launched chain Swimmer continued its strong start by more than doubling its weekly relays.
Thanks for reading, and we’ll catch you for the next recap!
